Alessia Capra
Ceramic Artist
My practice bridges ancient craft, storytelling, and contemporary ceramics through a deep exploration of materiality. Rooted in hand-built coiled forms, textured surfaces, and tactile manipulation, my work draws on themes of home, belonging, and ancestral memory. Originally from Sardinia, my research focuses on the period spanning the Nuragic to the Iron Age, engaging with archaeology and material culture to explore how objects carry history and transmit knowledge.By working with the tension between terracotta and porcelain, I explore the fragility and resilience of identity in a globalised world. Driven by curiosity and speculative imagination, I develop a sculptural language grounded in tradition yet open to new material possibilities
