Anyi Ji

The visual language of her work is inspired by the blurred imagination of mountain silhouettes and the transient impermanence of seasonal changes. From the blossoming and withering of flowers, her perceived the brevity of life, allegorically symbolizing the helplessness of living beings before death and our longing for immortality. Life seems to change and disappear in an instant, but when the mind sheds the veil of ignorance and illusion between it and the truth, life and death are merely two sides of the same coin—water emerging from fire. Creating with clay and fire is both a physical act and a spiritual pursuit.
