Ella Merriman
Craft Artist
When I first worked with rush, it felt like remembering rather than learning - an awakening of ancestral memory. This deep connection to natural materials inspires my work, encouraging others to rediscover respect for native resources. I harvest my rush by hand and following its journey from river to artwork deepens my admiration for it. I pair this ancient craft with discarded London furniture, seeing restoration as a ritual of preservation. Weaving brought me peace during struggles with eczema - nature quietly guided me toward healing - and my work seeks to share that calm, joy, and hope with others.
