Shih-Han Chou
Textile Artist
As a textile illustration artist, I work with layered fibre, thread, and fabric, blending them with drawing to create emotionally resonant works. My process is intuitive and meditative, often guided by memory, imagination, and nature. The collection Self-Generated Phytoncide is inspired by drawings from my teenage years, reimagined as symbolic flowers. Each form reflects themes of resilience, care, and imaginative wonder. Through softness and layered composition, I explore how textiles can hold stories and sensations—preserving thoughts and emotions in tangible form. My work values what is felt more than taught, transforming emotion into fabric.
