This collection explores material memory through glazed porcelain forms defined by tension and precision.
Working primarily with high-gloss surfaces and controlled casting techniques, I investigate the relationship between fragility and permanence.
Titled Han-ttam — the Korean term for “stitch,” which also references blueprint work — the collection connects ubiquitous denim textile culture with ceramic materiality. The recurring blue stitch traces casting seams and joint lines, echoing sewing patterns and draping techniques. These “blueprint” marks symbolise both planning and repair, while referencing the environmental impact of textile dyeing and global imbalances in water access.
Inspired by diverse human body forms, the vases are designed to rest comfortably under the arm, producing unpredictable silhouettes that shift from every angle. Each piece negotiates industrial process and intimate gesture, where control and vulnerability coexist.
