Evyn Gensurowsky
Evyn is a costume designer and maker currently based in London. Her work focuses on creating a visual language for each character from initial idea to final photograph or performance. After graduating from Wimbledon College of Arts, she has worked on various film and television productions such as The Rings of Power. She is currently focusing on creating her own line of pieces and collaborating with other multidisciplinary artists.
In my artistic practice, I aim to explore various themes and concepts through material exploration and design. Often my work encompasses costume, how wearable art can make visible the invisible. Through subtle manipulation of texture, color, and silhouette, the character’s invisible emotions, thoughts, motives, and background become visible to the audience. Each costume becomes a dialogue between the material, the character/performer, and me the maker. Where I ultimately decide what the character hides or unveils to convey their narrative.
