My 3D-printed work explores my dialogical relationship with clay by examining how somatosensory experiences shift when transitioning from making by hand to a technological approach through the lens of neurodivergence.
I rely on experimental object-making, which emphasizes thinking through the act of making, allowing the form to emerge through movement while encouraging the dynamic properties of the material. My design process begins with an intuitive 2D sketch, a free-flowing organic gesture, which I then bring to life in three dimensions.
Through 3D printing, I maintain a connection to the object while welcoming the aspect of unpredictability. Early collapses and technical challenges taught me to balance guiding and listening to the material, letting it express itself on its own terms and viewing it as an active collaborator. By embracing chance and the history of making, these works foreground material agency and the co-emergence of form, process, and intuition.
