These forms and structures are inspired by the living root bridges of Meghalaya, India.
Where nature, time, and human creativity working together. Using wire and thread in unconventional ways, I explored movement, tension, and interconnectedness echoing the organic growth of roots. The materials are guided through a hands-on process, allowing form to emerge intuitively, much like the bridges themselves are shaped over time. Through this approach, I aim to create a sense of harmony and movement, translating natural structures into tactile, sculptural textile forms.
This project explores the transformation of familiar materials wire and thread through different processes. By working with the properties of these materials, the work shifts them from their everyday function into something unexpected and tactile.
Narrative is embedded subtly allowing forms to suggest rather than define meaning. The work invites viewers to interpret and construct their own stories from their perspective, turning the ordinary into something quietly unfamiliar and open-end.
