Barriadas / Roofscapes is a collection of sculptural storage pieces rooted in the self-built landscapes of Lima’s hillsides.
The work translates the visual language of informal architecture; stacked volumes, improvised rooftops, antennas, unfinished surfaces and fragile verticality into furniture at the scale of the object. Developed as wall-mounted wooden volumes and movable boxes, the pieces use routed textures, uneven compositions and blackened metal details to recall the layered life of rooftops. Sitting between cabinet, architectural model and interior landscape, the collection explores storage not only as function, but as a way to hold memory, place and urban experience. Through precise construction and deliberately irregular forms, Barriadas / Roofscapes reflects on accumulation, adaptation and resilience within cities shaped by migration, necessity and everyday invention.
