Kuan Yu Chou
A chair is both an everyday object and a container of precious memory, bearing the weight of lived moments and experiences.
Reduced to outline, it mirrors memory itself: only traces remain. Suspended on a hook, it becomes unstable; memories hang fragile and scattered. The adjacent painting articulates this tension through blurred gesture and colour, dialoguing with the familiar yet intangible sensation.
This work disrupts habitual perception: what appears stable becomes precarious.
Through this displacement of the everyday, I invite viewers to reconsider how ordinary objects carry extraordinary meaning and ask what truly supports us and what burdens our daily lives.
