This series explores the long-lasting impact of childhood sexual violence experienced by myself and two close friends.
Through illustration and textile-based work, I confront how trauma embeds itself in the body and memory—quietly shaping our identities, relationships, and daily lives. Speaking out took years, but even now, the weight of those experiences remains. Each image and stitch carries fragments of what we could not express as children.
The act of making becomes a form of resistance and survival—a way to reclaim authorship over our own narratives. Inspired by feminist practices and informed by East Asian cultural contexts, this series reflects the tension between silence and voice, vulnerability and strength. Rather than offering resolution, the work creates space to feel, to remember, and to witness. It is a testimony not only to pain, but also to our continued presence and resilience.
