Bees have been called the most important living organisms on Earth.
The role they play, makes them exceptionally sensitive indicator of changes, occurring in the environment. Due to their extensive symbolism and universal meaning, bees’ life becomes the best analogy for human social relationships.
In my project the multiplied porcelain module, acting as a carrier, serves to emphasize the individuality of each worker bee, a canvas for a memory of single existence, transformed into ceramic glaze. In our everyday routine, we easily overlook their work and little lives, unfolding somewhere in the background.
I made them visible through their transformation and embodiment into ceramics - each one becomes the glaze and simultaneously a kind of its own eternal portrait. The group of modules allows to rearrange them freely, just like fickle, ever changing its form, swarm of bees in its organic constant movement.
