Phygital Landscapes of my Youth is a window into my upbringing amongst the varied terrain of California.
The landscapes — abstractions of nostalgic memories. A winding path plows through the land. Viewers are asked to ‘wander’ the work; to engage with it not as a static object, but as a map of exploration.
A drawn grid on the ceramic surface brings the warmth and imperfection of the human hand into the work. This sketched mesh serves as a ghost of the object’s digital conception, leaving a permanent record of the exchange between screen and studio.
