In this ongoing series of works on paper I begin by silkscreening a rich dark green onto various paper stocks, this becomes the starting point for each subsequent artwork.
This particular piece explores a technique I developed where I use my nail to split the paper and gently pull the layers apart - I found a beautiful feathering occurs at the point when the layers slowly break free from each other.
These fragile fragments symbolise a kind of release, allowing me to explore and express the anatomy of the paper in a completely new way.
