Tianye An
This project explores time through the process of forging and seeks to make the act of thinking visible.
It focuses not on the final product, but on the unfolding process itself—the moments of happening, cutting, shaping, annealing, and struggle. My aim is to reveal the creative and reflective process, breaking away from the closed logic of outcome-driven presentation, and inviting viewers to reconsider how they perceive and find meaning.
Each strike of the hammer arises from the previous annealing and pause. The marks left behind are like the language of time, inscribed not only into the metal but also onto paper. The interaction between the material and the immaterial awakens perception and thought, going beyond a simple understanding of physicality.
