Jade and panels carved from acrylic are utilised in the work to create pixel game images, with modern elegant artefacts designed with a strong ancient charm by combining prehistoric jade artefacts and electronic games.
The work exhibits a long span of history, reflecting on the cultural meaning behind entertainment, the lack and discontinuity of traditional Chinese culture. By presenting the work in a museum-like display, it reconsiders what is perceived as “known”and transforms daily experiences into something unfamiliar where the ordinary appears strange.
The project explores connections between different cultures, examining cultural influence, loss, and continuity.
